Welcome to English Garden Art
English Garden Art (also known as The Somerset Mushroom Man), is a small family business based in Taunton, Somerset.
We specialise in Beautiful Wooden Sculptures and Chainsaw Carvings designed to enhance open spaces.
These carvings range from the famous Glastonbury Festival Wooden Mushrooms as seen on the BBC at every Glastonbury Festival since 1998, to small sets of wooden mushrooms for the garden, large free standing wooden mushroom sculptures ; and larger giant sculptures like our enormous 18 foot long by 8 foot wide and 4 inch thick banqueting table with fifteen giant thrones for seating.
We produce various individual bespoke sculptures for sale to private customers. Large scale sculptures designed for Festival Decor and Event Hire and anything in between are available for our ever imaginative customers.
At Christmas we make our ever popular Log Reindeers which are always in huge demand along with a large variety of mushrooms which are available for purchase in the leafy lay-by on Puriton Hill, 1 mile east of Junction 23 of the M5 on the A39.
James Golding, the proprietor of English Garden Art, has worked alongside many great companies. He is most recognizable for his work in the BBC Garden Live Acoustic Area at the Glastonbury Festival of Performing Contemporary Arts. Many a famous star has performed on and around our giant carved wooden mushrooms and sculptures.
All our carvings are made from locally sourced timber, which comes from local independent tree surgeons. Each tree is special to us and all trees were felled due to the trees reaching the end of their natural lives or being in a dangerous condition.
